El Meson de Pepe to host Literature & the Sea Reception & Caribbean Pirates Buffet
Key West, Florida Keys... Looking for a great event to get you in the 'Pirate Spirit' and celebrate with local and internationally renowned artists, authors and historians?
If so, mark your calendar for Thursday, December 4, for El Meson de Pepe's 8th Annual Literature & the Sea Reception and Caribbean Pirates Buffet. Join the Pirates in Paradise scurvy crew and visiting authors and historians in town for the 10th annual Pirates in Paradise Festival, which features a host of maritime arts, cultural and literary activities.
Following a delicious buffet dinner (served from 7 - 8pm) Admiral Finbar, First Sea Lord and Supreme Commander of Conch Republic Military Forces will be on hand to share sea stories and adventures from his life at sea, as will artists and historians John Viele, Christine Lampe, Don Maitz and Janny Wurts. Jazz icon “Queen of Swing” Norma Miller will also be signing DVDs of Florida filmmaker John Biffar’s “Queen of Swing,” which tells the story of how she danced her way out of Harlem and into the hearts of audiences around the world, including Paris, Rio and Hollywood.
